Consulting
Dr. Fey is available as a numismatic consultant. He has been brought into the
planning, and development of several new numismatic commercial enterprises, and
has also donated his time and expertise as President of the New Jersey Numismatic
Society, and as Chairman of the Consumer Protection Committee of the
American Numismatic Association. He was consulted to review, cherrypick,
and attribute from some 35,000 Morgan and Peace silver dollars for rare die varieties
from Ted Binion’s “Nevada Hoard” (from the Horseshoe
Casino).
Dr. Fey was the source for Top 100 pricing at Coinage
magazine, a monthly newsstand publication, has published cover articles for
the Coin Dealer Newsletter
(CDN) Monthly Supplement of the Greysheet (example
1 & example
2), and was a contributing author to The
Official Red Book of Morgan Silver Dollars by Q. David Bowers.
Dr. Fey has performed as an expert witness in numismatic litigation and has
been called upon by federal authorities for expert opinion. And, he has worked
with client legal counsel to advise, appraise and dispose of numismatic estates.
Dr. Fey is routinely called upon to review numismatic collections to determine
how best to maximize their value prior to sale. This may take the form of numismatic
conservation, re-grade, cross grade, attribution, or negotiation of outside
service fees.
